"From checking in to the quality and cleanliness and comfort of the bedroom, everything was of the highest standard. We absolutely loved the hotel with its location in the centre of Beaune. The Slanted Door restaurant was exceptional. But most outstanding was the staff - perfectly polite and incredibly helpful with everything! This is a wonderful hotel!"

"Very friendly helpful staff from the valet , reception, bar staff and restaurant staff. Lovely central location. We really enjoyed the vietnamese restaurant- fresh hot imperial springs rolls and other interesting starters and delicious wood fired sliced veal chop, very good wine by the glass too.Very good continental breakfast"

"Absolutely first class location in the centre of Beaune. From the moment we arrived & were checked in to departure everything was as an unbelievably professional. Mark at concierge was fantastic always there to collect & drop our car. Benjamin was always smiling, polite & knowledgeable. Ryan in the bar was a encyclopaedia of cocktails & the Vesper Martini ……. OMG Huge thanks to everyone at Maison 1896 & The Slanted Door for making us feel so welcome"

"Amazing location, wonderful staff, particularly the lovely gentleman who helped us with car parking. Lovely quiet, spotless and spacious rooms, decent breakfast spread. A very relaxing stay."

"More an observation than a dislike, it did feel like some of the character had been lost in the rooms for such a lovely old building. We loved how old and new had been brought together in the dining/breakfast room."

"This was the first stop for our honeymoon. The staff and service was truly exceptional and with small touches, made our first honeymoon stop feel very special. The hotel is historic, but newly renovated and exceptional from room to facilities customer service and breakfast options. We shall return!"
