Svæðið býður upp á frábær tækifæri til útivistar, þar á meðal silungsveiði, gönguferðir í Tongariro-þjóðgarðinum sem er á heimsminjaskrá UNESCO, heitar laugar og skíði. Chalet Eiger er í 2 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá Taupo-vatni og í 8 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá miðbæ Taupo.
